Mayor Eric Garcetti and I recently joined with the Salvation Army for a ribbon-cutting for the Aetna A Bridge Home site in Van Nuys, providing temporary shelter and resources to 70 local women and men experiencing homelessness. CD6 is home to most existing supportive housing and future supportive housing of any district in the San Fernando Valley and for that, I thank the good people of CD6 for being part of the solution. More of our Valley districts are adding beds and every corner of the City needs to step up and participate in the solution.
This shelter will bring relief to the people it serves. For our Council District 6 neighborhoods that have said yes to housing and services for those experiencing homelessness, they need relief as well. We can and should do both.
