Welcoming New Businesses to Van Nuys

I am committed to the revitalization of Van Nuys.  What was once the place to go and visit for shopping, entertainment, and community events has the potential to become that place again.  I would like to see the Van Nuys Blvd. area be a destination again, and I’m working every day to help make that happen.

Recently we welcomed two new businesses to the area.

Dunkin Donuts originated on the East Coast in 1950, and our new location at 7203 Van Nuys Blvd. is the second to open in the San Fernando Valley.  They opened a few weeks ago, but will have their ribbon cutting on February 9th. Welcome to Van Nuys, Dunkin Donuts!

Just down the street at 6209 Van Nuys Blvd is another new business, Farm Table Co.  Farm Table is proud to serve nutritious food that comes directly from the farm to the table.  Their slogan is, “Farm to fork is not just a catchphrase, it’s our mission statement.”  I’m a real advocate for healthy food for our families, so I’m particularly excited to welcome them to our district!

I’m dedicated to bringing economic revitalization to our communities, so we can work, shop, and find entertainment right here in our own back yard.  For example, I worked hard to get Measure M to include the Van Nuys Corridor transportation improvements, and with voters approving that measure, we’ll see those improvements in the years to come.  Recently the Los Angeles Daily News wrote a story on our efforts to bring revitalization to our district.
