Valley Human Trafficking Task Force announces uptick in arrests

I held a press conference with L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer and officers from the LAPD Operations-Valley Bureau to highlight the hard work of the Bureau’s Human Trafficking Task Force. Last year, the Task Force arrested more than 700 johns and multiple pimps.

They also rescued nearly a dozen young girls, one of them just 14 years old.

It’s been more than two years since I helped create the Task Force. In that time, they’ve saved so many lives, helped put dozens of pimps and johns behind bars, and made our communities safer.

Every night, these officers put their lives on the line to free women and girls from sexual slavery. I am so grateful for their dedication, and will continue to advocate to keep the Task Force fully funded.
