On December 21, I helped launch the City's annual Christmas tree recycling program. The kick-off was held at L.A. Sanitation's East Valley yard in Sun Valley.
To prevent a fire, the Los Angeles Fire Department asks you to keep your tree watered, and to recycle it as soon as possible. The City makes tree recycling easy. All you you have to do is:
1) remove the decorations and stand;
2) cut the tree in half; and
3) place the cut pieces in your green bin for collection.
If you can’t cut your tree, you can place it curbside for collection on your collection day, or drop it off at a location listed on lacitysan.org/treerecycle.
