Sun Valley Recreation Center Receives an Upgrade

At the end of September, I joined the Department of Recreation and Parks for the Ribbon Cutting of a new playground at the Sun Valley Recreation Center. I am working every day to make sure that our communities get the resources they need to thrive. Using state and local funds, and with the support of Recreation and Parks, we are in the process of updating the playgrounds and surfaces at several parks in my District.

New synthetic turf, bleachers, fitness area, and park signs are coming soon to Van Nuys Recreation Center and North Hills Community Park. Working with our new Assemblywoman Luz Rivas, we were able to get over $1 million for Cesar Chavez Park up the street on Sheldon Ave. Every child deserves to have a clean, open, and safe place in which to play.
