Beautiful new trees are gracing the medians along Woodman Ave. and Chase St. this week as the Bureau of Sanitation's Tree Planting Environmental Services Group and the Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC) began this effort to improve the quality of life in these communities.
From the 8600 to the 8700 blocks of Woodman Ave, (including Chase St.) over 32 tree wells were cut for the new trees. Over the course of the month, all trees will be planted and watered twice a week with my office’s assistance.
To me, efforts like this not only beautify the neighborhoods but also make residents proud to be pedestrians in our District and home. The future of the City and our District will be based on our ability to adapt to our communities lessening reliance on vehicles and these efforts are putting the Sixth District on the forefront of adapting to our changing communities.
