Making North Hollywood Streets Safer with Clear and Bright Lines

Driving in Los Angeles has a bad reputation but there are many things that we can do to make it better and safer for everyone. North Hollywood drivers face a difficult intersection where Webb Ave., Lankershim Blvd. and Strathern St. meet. With three streets intersecting often times the lines and street lights can be confusing.

Working with residents, we realized that part of the problem was the intersection is very large and open. With such a large area, you could see why drivers would be confused and find it difficult to stay in their lane as they crossed. To fix this, the Transportation Department painted new lines guiding drivers into their lanes on the opposite side. As you can see in the image, drivers can now follow the yellow dividers through the intersection, making the area safer and easier to manage.

Thank you to our local community members that made us aware of the problem and made North Hollywood safer.
