The City of Los Angeles has launched an unprecedented sidewalk repair program, SAFE SIDEWALKS LA, which will invest $1.4 billion over 30 years to make sidewalks accessible to everyone. This collaborative effort included three years of public hearings and input from hundreds of residents across the City.
It is one of the biggest infrastructure programs in the history of the City and is being led by the Bureau of Engineering with coordination from multiple departments and agencies.
These repairs will improve neighborhood safety and boost the quality of life. Sidewalk repairs are being made in front of city facilities and this next phase is an expansion of the repair program that will address broken sidewalks throughout the City of Los Angeles.
Property owners can choose from several options that are available in the program and we encourage Angelenos to participate and help renew our pedestrian grid.
