Kicking Off embRACE L.A.'s 100 Dinners on Race

I was proud to host the third and final kick-off lunch for embRACE L.A. -- City Council President Herb Wesson's 100 dinners on race initiative. The dinners are a chance for Angelenos to gather together, break bread and break through.

Together with Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, and Councilmembers Mitch Englander, Joe Buscaino and Curren Price, Jr., we talked about race, growing up in L.A., and what we can do to repair the divisions in our communities. We had an honest conversation, shared memories and explored paths toward a more inclusive city.

Thanks to my colleagues and their guests for joining the lunch, to the wonderful staff at the Mid-Valley Family YMCA for accommodating us, and to Not Your Mama's Kitchen for an out-of-this-world meal.
