  • Metro will hold a public meeting in Van Nuys on Saturday morning to discuss its Orange Line improvements project. The project aims to improve bus travel times by adding crossing gates and/or grade separations to the Orange Line, to move buses through San Fernando Valley intersections more quickly.

  • Sun Valley community tree planting on San Fernando Road

    The Sixth District is partnering with the Los Angeles Beautification Team and the Sun Valley Neighborhood Council to plant trees this Saturday, along San Fernando Road in Sun Valley. Be part of our effort to green our industrial corridors, improve air quality, and make Sun Valley more green.

  • Movies in the Park: Van Nuys Civic Center

  • Cleaning up Arleta

    Please join us for our next community clean-up in Arleta on March 11th.  We will be meeting at the Calvary Lutheran Church at 8800 Woodman Avenue at 8:30 a.m.  Tools and bags will be provided.  Student can earn service learning hours.  We’ll also have refreshments for the volunteers.  I hope to see you there!

    Since talking with these residents, I'm proud to host Van Nuys community members as LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, Valley Bureau Deputy Chief Robert Green, and Van Nuys captains discuss public safety in our local neighborhoods.

     

  • Tire Recycling

    The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation will host six collection events, including one in our local East Valley District Yard in Sun Valley. This will give residents an opportunity to properly dispose used and old tires from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for each event. 

    This opportunity is only for City of Los Angeles residents only. No tires from businesses will be accepted and residency will be verified with your current DWP bill and California Driver’s License. Additionally, there is a maximum of nine (9) tires per person per trip and tires on rims will not be accepted.
