My strike team, led by Luis Hurtado is out picking up bulky items and trash throughout the district every day. However, we put things in high gear for Earth Day on April 22nd and scheduled a weekend full of clean-ups throughout the district, in conjunction with hundreds of volunteers! On Friday the 22nd, Luis led a group of over 120 students from St. Genevieve High School in Panorama City, and together they collected over 100 bags of litter and debris from our neighborhood streets.
Over Earth Day weekend we had several additional clean-ups. In Sun Valley we picked up over 3 tons of litter, weeds, bulky items and shopping carts. We also led over 60 volunteers to help plant two dozen trees at Woodley Park!
Luis, is based out of my Sun Valley office.
