Cutting the Ribbon on Arleta's Mid Valley Multipurpose Center

Today I was proud to join the ribbon cutting on the long awaited Mid Valley Intergenerational Multipurpose Center! This 2.6-acre site includes a new single-story, 2,500 square\foot building that has an open-plan interior as well as a snack room, office space, and restroom access for residents enjoying its beautiful outdoors area.

Mid Valley Intergenerational Multipurpose CenterFor 15-20 years, development at 9540 Van Nuys Blvd. has started and stalled again and Arleta residents were growing anxious and eager to see this prime real estate become a benefit to the entire community. What was once expected to be a center for local seniors is now a beautiful location that can be utilized for all members of the Arleta family. From children learning new skills to seniors making friends and taking classes, I'm excited to see our neighborhood utilizing this new space.

I also want to offer a special thank you to both the Department of Recreation and Parks for their tenacious work completing this location but also Arleta community leader, Al Pantianida, for his commitment to our community.

This facility is a wonderful example of what we can build when we work together!
