Cleaning the Alley behind Matilija Ave

The Clean Street Program began last year in which LA Sanitation promised to dedicate one day a month to cleaning up alleys, sidewalks and other public areas in the Sixth District. This month, we brought LA Sanitation to an alleyway behind Matilija Ave in Panorama City.

Working with heavy machinery and Sanitation personnel, my Strike Team was able to remove debris left behind by a construction site. This irresponsible behavior is unacceptable and we need long term solutions that will prevent these behavior in the future. That's why we were able to coordinate with LADWP to install five additional utilitarian lights throughout the alleyway to deter future illegal dumping.
These problems won't be resolved overnight but when we work together and coordinate with different departments and the community, we can make lasting improvements to our District.
