Clay Lacy has been a wonderful partner to the Van Nuys community, especially the Van Nuys Airport. As VNY’s longest tenant, Clay Lacy Aviation has not only invested in our long-term success but also the success of our local families and communities. Through their continued support of our local students through the aviation mechanic school and the annual VNY career fair.
And this week, Clay Lacy Aviation’s continued investment into the future of Van Nuys as we broke ground on their new South Campus. This $10 million, 6-acre expansion will create 25 new maintenance, line service and ground support jobs to local employees. In addition to announcing their corporate expansion, they also announced two new scholarships for local students that attend the VNY aviation mechanic school.
And just looking around, you could see how important this investment is to this community. With over 100 aviation mechanic students attending the event, the products of LAUSD High Schools like Van Nuys or Panorama City were finding new careers right here in the Valley.
I was proud to stand and support Clay Lacy’s expansion. This school and this expansion is a product of private public partnerships. And I am thankful for his commitment to the future of our community and of aviators across the country.
