"In Her Words": A Women's History Month Celebration

In wrapping up Women’s History Month, I was proud to present “In Her Words” — a celebration of sisterhood and the female experience, and an evening of empowering performances by women.

Held in the City Hall Forecourt, the night's festivities featured song, dance, poetry and spoken word by some of L.A. most creative women.

Thank you to "Femcees" Diosa Femme and Mala Muñoz from Locatora Radio, poet More2JayBee, spoken word artist Hanna Harris from Get Lit - Words Ignite, the Brockus RED dance company, and Latin pop/rock singer Maria del Pilar for inspiring us.

And thanks to everyone who joined me for the event. As women, we each have a story to tell, and we deserve to be heard. Stand up and speak out, and keep fighting for your dreams. Your words matter. Your voices matter. YOU matter.
